Raw Food Diet: Are You the Right Candidate?

October 26, 2022 , Raw Food Diet

Who is the raw food diet suitable for?

Consuming a large amount of fruits and vegetables helps control blood pressure, so a raw food diet can be a good option for patients who suffer from high blood pressure. In addition, the low amount of sodium in this diet has made eating raw food lower the risk of stroke, heart failure, osteoporosis, stomach cancer and kidney disease. In addition, diabetics, especially those with type 2 diabetes, can use a raw food diet to lose weight and maintain an ideal weight.

This diet can have benefits for patients with diabetes and high blood pressure, but it is not suitable for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with immune system deficiencies.

Who should not use this diet?

It is true that the raw food diet has its benefits, but it is not recommended for some people due to the risk of food-borne diseases or the body’s need for certain dairy products. Children, elderly people, pregnant women and people with immune system defects should not use raw diet or if they go to this program, they should be extremely careful. Consumption of raw meat is generally not recommended, especially for people with immune system defects, children under 5 years old, people over 70 years old who suffer from certain underlying diseases, and pregnant mothers.
